What We Do

Our work focuses on complete care for every child — and on building toward a future where the home sustains more of itself.

Residential Care

A safe home where children receive food, shelter, clothing, and family-style care.

Education

We support children from nursery school through university.

Healthcare

Medical treatment, health insurance, nutrition, and regular health monitoring.

Mentorship & Life Skills

Character development and practical skills — cooking, farming, poultry-keeping, self-reliance — that prepare older children for independent living.

Program

Agriculture

Food security is one of our highest priorities. We grow maize, rice, tomatoes, and vegetables on our own land to cut food costs and improve nutrition for the children. The farm is run by our adult staff, with older children able to learn practical agricultural skills alongside them. As the project grows, we hope to produce enough not only for our own kitchen but to generate income through surplus harvests.

Poultry

Our poultry project supplies fresh eggs and helps generate income for education, healthcare, and daily operations. With improved facilities and reliable electricity, poultry has the potential to become one of the orphanage's major sources of self-generated income.

Sports Academy

Children at Watoto Wa Africa learn to play football through our Sports Academy — building teamwork, discipline, and confidence. Some of our kids go on to play competitively as young adults, and football remains one of the most-loved activities in daily life here.

Sewing Training

In our sewing training program, children learn to sew and repair clothing on three machines under staff supervision — a hands-on life skill, taught the same way we teach cooking or farming, that builds patience and self-reliance for children who take a real liking to it.
